Looking at it today, it looks as though you could walk across. It doesn't look very far away but it is nearly 6 miles out. The Bristol Channel is quite a treacherous place and the island can be very remote at times and I think that is part of the attraction. It's like a goal on the horizon that people are aiming for. When we went we were quite unprepared for such a wonderful, peaceful, tranquil place - it's almost spiritual. I love it because it's one of my earliest memories of being in Weston. It was always something that intrigued me.
